I love the feeling I get when shooting 35mm film in my manual camera. Shooting with my digital camera is different in
some ways, but ultimately it's only another tool to get what I want. What I want is to take pictures and use those
pictures as a means of expression and communication. For the past 15 years I've been looking through my camera
lens trying to capture light. Light that comes in countless forms—live music, a secluded ferris wheel, a random
bathroom in Kansas, a path of Oak trees dripping with Spanish Moss, a portrait of a friend and so on.
Certain subjects hit nerves in my heart and in my head. It is a crucial part of who I am to take pictures and write
down my thoughts. I know that the process is an outlet, as well as a need. I see a lot of good and a lot of bad in this
world and I'm affected by it. One way I know how to deal with living in a world that seems to be self destructing is to
pick up my camera, take pictures and share them with you.
As of June 2010 I graduated from Cabrillo College and earned a Certificate of Proficiency in Graphic Design and
Digital Publishing. Graphic design felt like a natural progression with moving forward artistically. I'm excited to apply
all that I have learned to make more beautiful art in a different medium and use it as another means of expression
and communication. Photography, writing and graphic design help relieve any tension and pain that stirs inside.

Every morning our English Teacher would go through roll call and yell out each students name. Apparently, for the
first few weeks of class, a fellow student thought that my name was very odd. So one day she got up the nerve and
asked me, “what kind of name is Pizza Burrito?”

I built a half pipe during the week of Spring Break and ended up with about 9' of vert & about 1' of transition. It was as
strong as a fucking battleship, but unfortunately, it was as useless as a skateboard with no wheels. My two younger
brothers referred to it as “the box I built in our backyard.” Needless to say, no one ever dropped in.
